Journalists for Human Rights within the project “Introduction of a Water and Sanitation Safety Plan”, and as part of the Balkan WaSH network announces the promotional event on May 26th, on the Square Macedonia, Skopje, from 14 pm, for marking the Menstrual hygiene management Day 2018, this year marked through the moto #NoMoreLimits.

This year, JHR addressing the problem of poverty in relation to this issue will realize the event within the framework of the European campaign for guaranteed minimum income schemes, #EMINbus, and whose implementer in Macedonia is the Macedonian Poverty Platform. The events are aimed at calling for activism in order to build awareness of the importance of adequate, affordable and affordable schemes for a minimum income for the whole society.
Addressing the problem of insufficient maintenance of menstrual hygiene in conditions of poverty, JHR takes part in the joint celebration of the day. At the event, within our presentation, we will announce the results of the latest research on the accessibility of hygienic pads in Macedonia, and we will call for a reduction in the price of the same, a reduction in the tax rate for hygienic pads – they are not luxury goods, and will we demand that menstrual hygiene management be included in gender budgeting. At the same time, JHR will urge local businessmen and stakeholders to start producing multi-use hygienic pads. Our expert team developed an idea about its composition and its production – it only needs a company that will produce it and thus will reduce the cost of maintaining menstrual hygiene, reduce environmental pollution and play a protective role in the reproductive women’s health …

We are waiting for you, call us to cooperate !!!

And in the meantime, you can help us in building an image on the state of maintaining menstrual hygiene by answering the questions HERE … (only for girls and women)
