World Handwashing Day is dedicated to raising awareness of the importance of handwashing with soap as an effective and affordable way to prevent illness and save lives. This campaign is an opportunity to design, test and adopt creative ways to encourage people to wash their hands with soap at critical times. This year’s campaign is dedicated to the pandemic caused by the new coronavirus. The virus is spread during close direct contact with an infected person, drops caused by coughing, sneezing, speech, etc. A person can become infected with the new coronavirus (SARS-KOV-2) by touching surfaces or objects freshly contaminated with the secretions of the respiratory organs of an infected person who has the virus present, and then touching the mouth, nose, eyes, so that general prevention of hand hygiene is at the same time one of the most effective and simplest ways to stop the spread of the virus, so wash your hands with soap. To beat the virus today and ensure better post-pandemic health outcomes, hand washing with soap must be a priority now and in the future.

This year’s theme “Hand Hygiene for All” invites and reminds the whole society that hand hygiene is the cheapest preventive measure in preventing the spread of many infectious diseases, which can be transmitted by dirty hands with a few recommendations:

wash your hands with soap whenever you can, especially before cooking or feeding others;
let hand washing be part of your family habits before eating;
secure places for hand washing in the household, community, schools, workplaces and health facilities;
promotes effective behavior change and the adoption of regular hand washing habits
