Extremists and violent extremists always try to use compelling messages and narratives as a means of attracting followers to their cause. In modern times, the Internet and social media are a significant and easy-to-use medium for inspiring, radicalizing, and recruiting young people. It is obvious that if the fight against violent extremism (CVE) is to be effective, there must be more focus and resources that will be made available to develop effective counter-narratives, both online and in traditional media. Counter-narrative programs are time and resource-intensive and require dedicated action.

“Journalists for Human Rights” will be campaigning for the next six months by telling stories to educate about how to counter violent extremism. The stories will aim to educate the population about the role of extreme radicalism, to inform them, but also to send a message for a solution to the problem. Storytelling will always be narrated in the first person and will be interviewed people who have expertise in this phenomenon, as well as people who have encountered violent extremism …

The stories will be recorded on the territory of North Macedonia and will be shown on social media, as well as on the portal TEXT.MK
